About Old City
Located in the downtown district is the Old City of Knoxville Tennessee. Also known as Jackson Avenue Warehouse District, this is one of the most historic districts in Knoxville. It boasts several buildings that are registered with the National Register of Historic Places. No matter what your interest or age, there is something for you in the Old City. During the day, walk the historic streets and shop at the shops. Depending on when you are visiting, you may easily catch a craft fair that occurs right on the streets. During the Dogwoods festival live bands and fairs will surround you, keeping you busy for hours. Wind down your day with dinner at any of the several available restaurants. Night owls will enjoy the variety of nightlife available. Jazz, country, blues, bluegrass, and more music awaits. Live and in dance clubs, the music will lift your spirits and take you away. Some of the best spirits are found in the bars and clubs located in the Old City, so you can drink, dance, and dine the night away. The Old City is located close to some of the best hotels and attractions that Knoxville has to offer. Places that are within walking distance or a quick ride include the famous Neland Stadium and Thompson Boling Arena, if you are into sports. You can also walk through the Knoxville Museum of Art, the World's Fair Park, and many other places that will keep you coming back to the Old City for more.
