Description
Secluded among the ridges and valleys of southern Appalachia is a place called Narrow Ridge Earth Literacy Center. Beginning as 40 acres of private land in the 1970's, Narrow Ridge now protects 500 acres of rural land including over 150 acres
of wilderness and 35 home sites.
The CRITERION for what we do is this human institutions, programs and activities must now be judged by the extent to which they inhibit, ignore or foster a mutually enhancing human/Earth relationship.
The VISION of Narrow Ridge is one of justice for human beings, animals, and Earth and sustainability in the way we live our lives and the way we create our institutions and technologies. Our vision is one of education and leadership by example in creating alternatives to the present society and culture.
